  I’m confident in my choice to do the magazine project. After spending time with tutorials for both  Adobe  Premier Pro and InDesign,  I  feel much more comfortable with design software such as Adobe InDesign and Illustrator. As an art study , and prospective Visual Arts major, I feel it would be beneficial for me to background with Ill ustrator and graphic design with this project.    However, while playing with Premier Pro and reading an article about the power of storytelling, I did have second thoughts about  doing the movie project instead. Learning and experimenting with video editing software is something I haven’t put much time into and therefore don’t have  a developed skill set in.   The front cover of a magazine is its first impression. The front cover of a magazine is arguably the most important image the viewer sees. Among all o ther  options  on the shelf, the cover image and featured stories th at magazine  presents are what draws both long-time magazine lovers and the industries newest target consumers. After  viewing several magazines, the thought and effort put into cover designs was quite evident. For example, on the  long-standing GQ magazine cover, the bold and unique color choice stood out among any other magazine. The vivid distincti on between red lettering and blue was consistent throughout and created a “vibe”  no other magazine came near. Another con sistency between a lot of magazines I viewed (Men’s Health, Sports Illustrated, The Oprah Magazine, Cosmopolitan, etc. ) was the choice to include a celebrity as the cover image.   Title sequences are crucial to the development of the beginning of a film because it has been  tasked with grasping the audience's attention both visually and audibly. Without the  opening sequence, it’s much more likely for the audience to become confused rather than engaged in the upcoming plot. Foreshadowing also  proves to be insanely important for not only first-time viewers, but also film veterans. As someone who enjoys re - watching movies to find “easter eggs” straight from the mind of an in genious director, the opening credits scene acts as a  packed few minutes of potential .   The opening credits is like the prologue of a novel; each being different lengths and giving away a different amount of information .
